About the job

The Senior Product Developer at Pas Normal Studios plays a critical role in the design and development of high-quality cycling apparel and accessories. Working closely with the design, production, and marketing teams, the Senior Product Developer is responsible for bringing innovative and functional products to market while ensuring they meet the brand's standards of quality and aesthetics. This position is based in our Copenhagen, DK office, and involves occasional travel of approximately 20%.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development process, from conceptualization to final production, for cycling apparel and related accessories.

  • Lab Dipping:  Develop and execute lab dipping processes to create prototypes and samples of products, including textiles, coatings, or other materials.

    • Conduct experiments to test and optimize various material treatments, colourations, and finishes through lab dipping techniques.

    • Maintain accurate records of lab dipping processes, material specifications, test results, and any modifications made during development.

  • Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of fabric properties, garment construction techniques, and manufacturing processes specific to cycling apparel.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, pattern makers, suppliers, and manufacturers, to translate design concepts into feasible products.

  • Prototyping: Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples, ensuring they meet design specifications, testing standards and performance requirements.

  • Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality standards for all products, conducting regular inspections and tests to ensure consistency and functionality together with our Quality Manager.

  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative features and improvements into product designs.

  • Cost Management: Work closely with the suppliers to optimise product costs without compromising quality and performance.

  • Timelines: Manage project timelines and milestones to ensure products are developed and delivered on schedule.

  • Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, negotiating prices and resolving issues as needed.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed product specifications, BOMS, CBD, Photo Sample Tracking Sheets, and other relevant documentation.

  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify gaps, opportunities, and emerging trends in the cycling apparel market.

  • Testing and Feedback: Coordinate product testing and gather feedback from athletes and professionals to iterate and enhance product designs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Product Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in product development within the cycling apparel or performance apparel industry, with a proven track record of bringing successful products to market.

  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, colours and lab dipping, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Proficiency in using PLM tools, design software and other tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) CLO3D a plus

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.

  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating high-performance cycling products.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Language Requirements

Proficiency in English is required, as it is the primary language used for communication within Pas Normal Studios.
